A major name in the industry, FanDuel has expanded its offerings from daily fantasy sports (DFS) to sports betting.
In addition to its sportsbook and DFS offerings, FanDuel now features an online betting platform for horse racing.
With FanDuel Racing, you can wager on horse races from more than 200 racetracks around the world.
FanDuel already has experience in the horse racing industry as its sister site, TVG, is a known commodity. The site offers horse race betting and live streaming channels. The FanDuel Group owns both platforms.
You can wager on horse racing via the FanDuel Racing mobile app or its website. The FanDuel Racing app is available to download in the majority of the US.
The racing app includes informative tools to help novice bettors become knowledgeable about horse racing. These consist of understanding the odds and bet types.
The operator also provides promotions, including free bets and bet insurance at select tracks.
FanDuel Racing boasts live streaming too. You’re able to view live races or replay races from tracks around the world.
Paddy Power Betfair acquired a majority stake in FanDuel in July 2018. The company was originally founded in 2009.
At this time, FanDuel Racing doesn’t have many promotions in place.
Unlike FanDuel Sportsbook that provides a $500 risk-free wager for new customers, FanDuel Racing isn’t quite there yet.
Sister site TVG Racing does offer a $300 risk-free bet for new customers, using promo code LSRTVG.
TVG Racebook Bonus Code | LSRTVG |
Betting Bonus | 50% up to $250 |
Last Verified: | March 5, 2021 |
FanDuel Racing also doesn’t host a rewards program, so betting on horse races will not earn you any loyalty points at this time.
Most gambling websites and sportsbooks offer some form of scheme where you can receive rewards just for placing bets.
Although FanDuel Racing doesn’t have many promotions in place, they do tend to rotate a few through. Here are a couple of examples:
This promotion ran in April 2020 and presumably will be repeated in the future among other promotions. For the entire month, you were eligible to get a $5 refund for bets placed on Thursday through Sunday.
If your win bet finished second for a race at a selected track, then FanDuel refunded your account up to $5.
You were limited to earning one bonus per eligible race.
Although this might not necessarily be a standard promo, FanDuel Racing offers a “Best Bets” section under its promotions.
The daily rundown provides insight and recommendations for upcoming events.
It is an excellent tool for inexperienced horse racing bettors. It gives useful intel about which horse FanDuel is picking to win a specific race.
FanDuel provides race information, including the race number, its location and the post time.
FanDuel Racing provides a user-friendly interface. Just like with FanDuel Sportsbook, it’s organized clearly and concisely presents information.
The top of the homepage provides the most important content first. It displays all the ongoing promotions available, as well as a list of races starting soon.
Just below that, FanDuel Racing shows the most popular horse races of the day. You’re able to see the post time for each race along with the top three betting favorites.
At the bottom of the page, it lists the top racetracks for that day. These typically feature the biggest races and the ones attracting the most betting attention.
With a tap or click, you’re able to select which race you’re interested in and see all the available betting odds.
FanDuel Racing is the same for the mobile app and its browser-based site. This avoids confusion when jumping between the two platforms.
FanDuel Racing also includes tabs at the bottom of the page that allow you to see your current wagers, promotions and an alphabetical list of tracks efficiently.
There’s also a “More” tab where you can find things like results to races, FAQ and customer support.
Live streaming is available for FanDuel Racing customers, too.
Instead of just waiting for race results or trying to find somewhere online to watch the race, FanDuel Racing brings the stream to you. You’re able to watch live races from more than 200 tracks, both in the US and internationally.
FanDuel also lets you watch replays from that day. If you missed the action happening live, you’re still able to see what happened by choosing a race from the “Results” page and view the replay.
FanDuel Racing is available as a mobile betting app for both Apple and Android users.
Those with Apple devices can download the iOS app as usual; however, Android customers must download the app from the FanDuel Racing website.
The app is nearly identical to the website version. It has the similar functionality and layout, and navigating the app is simple. You’re also able to view live streams on the mobile app.
Signing upfor an account with FanDuel Racing is easy and should only take you a few minutes.
You’ll need to provide some basic information, including:
The only other requirement is to provide a secure password for your account.
You must also be at least the minimum age to wager legally as well as be physically located in a participating state.
FanDuel provides a vast selection of horse races from which to choose. You’re able to wager on races from more than 200 tracks around the world.
Besides some of the most famous tracks are in the US, you can bet on the ponies at tracks in other countries, including Australia, Japan and Sweden.
Some of the most popular horse racing tracks in the US include:
However, FanDuel Racing doesn’t feature any locations owned by Churchill Downs. Current contractual agreements don’t allow FanDuel to offer betting lines on any tracks owned by the company.
Unfortunately, this includes several notable racetracks like Churchill Downs, the home of the Kentucky Derby.
Beyond offering a wide range of tracks to wager at, FanDuel allows plenty of betting types.
After choosing a specific race, you’ll see all the available horses and their current odds.
Once you’ve made your selection, you can wager using the following bet types:
While these betting terms could be confusing to newbie bettors, these options are what horse racing fans expect when they want to wager on the ponies.
The majority of betting types aren’t self-explanatory, but they’re all relatively simple to understand. FanDuel Racing provides an explanation about how each bet works and the level of difficulty.
The odds at FanDuel Racing are the same as you would see if you were at the track.
Unlike sports betting, money that is wagered on a specific horse is put in a pari-mutuel pool, and payouts are determined once the betting is complete. You get the same up-to-date odds as the bettors at the track are receiving.
Once a race is over, the final odds will be on display along with the payouts for the winning horse.
FanDuel Racing provides several methods for deposits and withdrawals.
Deposit options include:
You can withdraw funds in the following ways:
Although a large portion of the US allows legal online betting for horse races, some states do not.
To create an account with FanDuel Racing, you must physically be in one of the following states:
Most states only require you to be at least 18 years to wager legally; however, those in Arizona, Indiana, Iowa, North Dakota and Washington state must be at least 21.
Even though FanDuel Racing isn’t available in every state, that could change. Online gambling laws are expanding throughout the country.
If FanDuel Racing isn’t permitted in your state now, it could be soon.
